We believe it's all about the experience. No client awards a contract unless they believe they'll get a quality project returned, on time and on budget. But not many expect an experience that's smooth and pain-free from start to finish – and actually enjoyable.

So that's our aim. It's one of the things that make us really different. Our Team are dedicated to ensure that we do deliver and exceed the expectations of our clients. This is driven from top management by providing all necessary resource and mechanisms for the continual improvement of our services to ensure AOC remain the first choice of our clients.

You'll see it reflected in every aspect of our business – from our flexible, non-contractual approach and the emphasis we put on our people to our sophisticated management systems and the relationships we build with our known and trusted specialist partners.

Our approach

Being contractual is not our way. We believe in a flexible, and commonsense approach to solving problems that builds long term trust and relationships. That's what we mean by non-contractual.

We build trust too through the personal involvement and attention of our directors who take a very hands-on approach to all builds, regardless of size. Our project managers and teams stay dedicated to the jobs they’re on until they’re completed.

We’re friendly. Every one of us aims to be approachable, personable, honest, and always willing to give advice and support.

But of course it’s the end product that really counts. So we put huge effort into getting it right first time and snag-free at handover – with effective planning, good communications, snagging as we go along, and tools like benchmarking standards to make sure of the highest quality throughout.

Our Directors

We know that the service we provide can only ever be as good as the people who work in our business.

That's why we pay so much care and attention to the people side of things. You'll see it in everything - from our thorough selection process, to our high level of investment and support in training and equipment, to our shared belief in quality and consistency, and the way we all pull together to deliver for our clients.

We encourage people to take responsibility and ownership. We evaluate their contribution and give constant feedback. We communicate.

Our directors are personally involved. They know and care about what's going on with each project, and are in regular touch with our clients.

Above all, we make sure we always have the breadth and depth of skills and experience to successfully manage and deliver on any job we take on.

Our systems

We may be a relatively small business built on personal service – but we invest heavily in the sophisticated systems and processes of a much bigger organisation.

Our fully integrated management system spans quality, environmental and health and safety management. It gives us clarity and consistency in everything we do. It's regularly audited both internally and externally by professional bodies. It wins us confidence, trust and work.

We've added to it recently with a further major investment in Union Square – the leading knowledge management system for businesses in the built environment. It allows us to stay in control of our documents, access information remotely, track communications and find the latest versions of regulations. Most important of all, it lets us communicate very fast and efficiently with our clients.
